Among many Cricket Rivalries one rivalry that is usually not given much attention is the clash between Australia and Pakistan. World Cup history among the reveals  two interesting observations.

1. Pakistan has always reached the last four in which they beat Australia. 1979,1983,1992,1999,2011

2. Australia has won or reach the final in which they beat Pakistan. 1975,1987,2003,2015. In 1999 Pakistan tough having beaten them in group match faced an embarrassing defeat which started the kick off of Australia domination of world Cricket

Teams Under Performing On Purpose ??

Teams have under performed in sports at various points 

West Germany and Austria played a match so other team Algeria can be knocked out. That led to change in world cup rules. football 1982 

Itlay raised after they were knocked in Euro 2004 as Sweden and Denmark played a 2-2 Draw 

Brazil and Portugal Playing a 0-0 Draw in 2010 so that teams can avoid facing Spain 

Even our loss to Australia in Champions trophy 2009 is questionable

Pakistan and Afghanistan World Cup 2019

Pakistan World Cup match against Afghanistan was more of a carbon copy of 2018 Asia Cup encounter. Afghanistan batting First, Pakistan Restricting Afghanistan , Chase able Total , Middle Order Collapse, Rashid Khan hit for Six in 2nd Last Over to release the tension. 3 Wicket Victory in the end in last over.
